Search Engine Optimization in the Chicago Tribune

As a Chicago web design company that recognizes the power of SEO when it comes to driving traffic and ultimately generating conversions on the web, we were excited to see an article about search engine optimization in the Chicago Tribune this Monday.

Check it out:

“Want to increase your odds of people finding your Web site on the Internet?

Well, then you’d better optimize your site so it ranks high in the listings presented by top search engines like Google and Yahoo, say experts.
This “search engine optimization” is critical, considering that more than 150 million people in the United States regularly use search engines to look up information online, according to Tim McAtee of Warren, R.I.-based MarketingSherpa. Of those users, 60 percent to 70 percent look only at the first page of results, he said.”

Read the rest of Tribune reporter Jamie Herzlich’s article here. Of course, the article doesn’t mention the importance of search engine marketing or the necessity of crafting an ongoing campaign (getting a great search engine position and page #1 rankings is just not an overnight project), but it is still awesome to see an article about SEO in the mainstream media.
