Social Proof: Why Testimonials Should Play A Role In Your Web Design
Our web design company knows that social proof in the form of testimonials and positive reviews is one of the major reasons that visitors convert into customers; after all, people tend to want to buy things that are positively endorsed by others, especially people they trust. However, many business websites do not take full advantage of the power of social proof.
A testimonials page should be a major feature of most business websites - whether or not it is actually referred to as an actual testimonials page, a list of clients, or some other feature that proves that business has satisfied customers, some element of any company’s website should show this social proof.
The type of testimonials on the website also matter. Quotes that give a full name and location as opposed to initials seem more credible - and testimonials that include pictures or even video are the most reliable of all. Furthermore, a list of clients should include the type of work performed (think case studies, such as the SEO case studies on our SEO division’s blog) or examples of said work, like a portfolio.
