Sadly, it happens all the time - a business hires a web design agency and they develop the most creative and visually pleasing site in the field, and everyone sits back and waits for the website to start bringing in the customers and clients.

Crickets.

That beautifully designed website is getting no attention, not showing up in the search engine results, and getting a mere couple visitors a day.  So what went wrong?

Our web design company believes that when it comes to web design, especially business websites, less is almost always more. After all, a simple and clean website that is easy to navigate is key for converting visitors into customers (getting those visitors there in the first place is a job for our SEO team).

Last week this Chicago web design company blogger was looking for a customer service email or phone number for a particular company - I had an issue with a product of theirs that was not particularly urgent; however, it did need to be fixed and my problem was something a customer service could easily handle.  So of course, I went online to find company website and locate contact info.

An elegant business website should be like a a modern skyscraper, a classic Armani suit, or a sleek BMW - simple and clean without any superfluous details.  When you are developing your company’s web presence, your motto should be “less is more”.
